All of our cats and kittens live in our home and are given lots
of love and attention every day. This makes our cats
exceptionally sociable, affectionate and lovable.
Our kittens are all sent to their new homes and families with a
contract and health guarantee as well as age appropriate
vaccinations and a health exam form a certified vet.
We always advise new families to plan on giving their
new Highlander cubs time to adjust to their
new environment. Once they make the adjustment, however,
they are an absolute delight. Do not expect your kitten to just
sit around your house all day as they are an active breed.
They are usually not very vocal. Highlander cats do get along well with dogs, children, and other breeds of cats. These extraordinary breeds make wonderful pets that will give their humans lots of love, companionship and entertainment.
About the Highlander
The Highlander cats are a breed with a great personality; loving, playful

The Unique Look of the Highlander includes a very distinct facial look with Either Straight or loosely curled ears and short to bobbed tail. Many are polydactyl, extra toed. ONLY Curled Eared Cats Can Produce Curled Eared Kittens as Well as Straight Eared. A Straight Eared Cat Does NOT Carry the Genes to Produce Curled Ears.

Brief History
On July 1, xxxx, the very first Highland Lynx litter was born at Timberline Cattery. Joe Childers developed the breed by crossing two existing breeds, Desert Lynx and Jungle Curls. The Jungle Curl is a curled eared African Jungle Cat hybrid, and the Desert Lynx is a Bobcat hybrid. The primary foundation breed for Highland Lynx (Highlander) is the Desert Lynx.Outcrosses to the Jungle Curls were made specifically to add the unique curled ears to the cats.
The Highlander has many of the characteristics of the Bobcat with the distinctive curled ears of the Jungle Curl. These cats are definitely family cats. They are inquisitive and want to be a part of household activities. They come in both long and short hair and require the same care as any domestic cat.
Size
Most Highlander / Desert Lynx males will regularly weigh in at about twelve to seventeen pounds. They can get over twenty pounds. Females are generally smaller, averaging eight to eleven pounds.
Highlander / Desert Lynx males are slow to mature. They frequently take up to three years to reach their full weight.
Dietary Requirements
A Highlander / Desert Lynx Kitten does not require a specialized diet. They thrive on high quality cat food. Our cats' diets consist primarily of quality dry kibble. We also feed our kittens a good quality canned food.
Other dietary supplements or vitamins used for cats are also great to use with your new cub.
